Mud baths

Have you ever taken a mud bath? They date back to the Roman period and are well known for their goodness toward your skin. You may find spring water and volcanic ash. There are natural mud baths in places such as Turkey and New Zealand. If you can't afford the air fare, you can always go to your back yard. The sound of Ninon's voice forced us to realise that sticking the hose in a pile of dirt which became a pool of disgusting mud that smelled like feet wasn't the do-it-yourself way to achieve the experience of a natural mud bath. For this action our punishment was to take a bath in a bucket of freezing water at 10:00pm, with the air temperature eleven degrees. Ninon would not open the door until we were clean.Oh no! This could not be! So, what did we do?
Like any good citizen we got the hose in our own hands and drenched Ninon as soon as she stepped out of the door.
Oh, fuck. This was not a good idea. Before our eyes Ninon went from a long-sufferng mother to an enraged super woman. Snatching the hose from our hands, she put it on full blast
and sprayed us with the icy water. Then she went inside.
Dripping and freezing, we pleaded to be let inside. Finally, Ninon let us in.
We took a warm bath and went to bed.
The next morning, we were informed by Ninon that not only had we left muddy foot prints all over her recently vacuumed carpet, her white towels were a distant memory.
