" (Cream) HOT WOLVES IN SHEEP'S CLOTHING- They're too old be donning school uniforms, really. Well,five out of six of them are anyway. Pictured piling out of (and on top of) a silk black limo are, clockwise from left, Penn Badgley (22), Blake Lively (21), Ed Westwick (22), Taylor Momsen (15, and yes she is young enough to wear high school garb), Leighton meester (23) and Chace Crawford (23). The boys' pecs are never to flexed, and the girls' pouts are always at the ready, hence this impossibly gorgeous sextet manage to pull high school undergrad thing off-just. still, none of the audience-from 14 year old girls to women well in their 40s-seem to be complaining.
The show they run amok in is fox 8's 'Gossip Girl' but for some reason the boys are giving as much face time to the press as the girls. Another symptom of new gender politic where men are objectified as much, if not more then women (on billboards, in magazines, at movies, certainly on the telly) and where it's okay for guys to, you know, bond and express their feelings.
It's any one's bet which of the lads' on screen characters is going to break the most hearts. There's Dan (played by Badgly), supposedly the good guy, but there is something about those puppy dog eyes that seem to be hiding a sinister story. There's Nate (Crawford), who likes the bed with old women when he's not playing cat and mouse in the rec room. and Chuck (Westwick), the conniving son-of-a-bitch who loves to drag the dark side out of every other yuppie on the upper east side. Not that it's difficult to, what with the casts female characters seemingly equipped with a bitch-gene from birth.
'gossip girl' didn't do wonderfully well in the ratings first-season' round, and recently it jumped networks in Australia to nine before bouncing back to cable . it's audience, which began as cult-like, is now growing by the episode, and it's quickly becoming the show to dissertate around the office water cooler; providing far more interesting morning- after fodder then what's happening on the twee-by comparison '90210'.

This show is surprisingly good in all the ways that new "women-friendly" shows like Lipstick Jungle and Cashmere Mafia are not. have you noticed that they have disappeared from our screens, you probably only have a vague memory or like in my situation 'wait aren't they the same show?' Gossip girl is so fun to watch! with it's bratty, sleek and smart story lines, it's not always predicable. I think some of the stuff in this article is bull shit, like how they are too old, many shows such as the OC, One tree hill to neighbours have 22 year old male and female actors playing teenagers. Also, it is easier to hire 20 year olds because child labour laws do not apply. If we used 15 year old actors they would they not be allowed to work as many hours as the older ones, resulting in a longer time to film the show. But you know you can't satisfy everyone.
